Heisey Youth Center Mission

The Heisey will provide recreational opportunities for youth and adults of Cascade County. It will provide a public facility, professional leadership and flexible programs and services, thus meeting the recreational needs of the community.

The first corner stone for the Heisey Youth Center was laid June, 1936 and opened January, 1937. The tri-level building contains a cardio room, weight room, men’s & women’s locker rooms and a newly refinished basketball court.

Charles Heisey, a local Great Falls grocer, built and dedicated the youth center in memory of his loving wife Ella Heisey. In 1937 the cost of building the Heisey was $60,000 and today would cost over $1.2 million.

The Heisey proudly provides recreational opportunities for youth and adults of Cascade County. A dedicated staff of 4 and 9 board members believes we can make the community a better place by engaging clients, families, friends and partners, and their passion for meeting the physical needs of all children.
